Europris Selects Swisslog's Shuttle Solution

Europris, Norway’s leading discount chain, has selected Swisslog as its partner to supply a shuttle system for light goods to the company’s central warehouse in Moss, Norway. Swisslog has also been selected as the automation partner for the new automated central warehouse, which is currently under construction and is expected to become operational in mid-2020.

– We have decided to invest in Swisslog’s automated shuttle solution for light goods, CycloneCarrier. After a thorough analysis and evaluation process, we concluded that this solution best suits our workflow and our products. “We evaluated a number of different solutions and suppliers and determined that Swisslog’s comprehensive solution was the most well-thought-out and best suited to our needs,” says Pål-Christian Andersen, Director of Logistics at Europris AS.

CycloneCarrier is a compact and space-efficient solution that enables efficient picking directly from the shuttle to Europris’s extensive pallet flow system. The Europris CycloneCarrier will consist of 108 shuttles operating in 6 aisles, 6 integrated box-picking stations, 4 decantering stations, and the ProveMove and QuickMove conveyor systems. Europris currently manages its supply chain from several warehouses, which are now being replaced by an automated central warehouse. Construction began in late 2017, and the automated central warehouse is scheduled to go into operation in mid-2020. The facility will be the third-largest warehouse ever built in Norway.
