With a major warehouse expansion and targeted retrofit measures, Germany’s leading mail-order company for commercial office supplies—Printus Logistik—is upgrading its Taking logistics to a new level in collaboration with Körber Supply Chain.
Thanks to its high-performance logistics, Printus delivers orders from a selection of over 100,000 office supplies within 24 hours. To further strengthen this core competency in a dynamic market environment, the company is now investing heavily in its facility in Offenburg in southeastern Germany. As part of a 200 million euro investment in its new central logistics center, Printus is creating approximately 53,000 square meters of additional logistics space and modernizing key parts of the existing facility.
Körber is the general contractor for automation, mechanical systems, and software in the project. As a long-standing partner of Printus—which modernized its entire outbound goods area in Offenburg as early as 2020—Körber is constructing new buildings and carrying out the modernization of existing buildings and logistics in several phases. This enables virtually uninterrupted parallel operation between the existing and new facilities. The retrofit work is being carried out while operations continue, and the renovation of the existing facility is planned so that logistics access remains unrestricted at all times.

The new automated logistics center will feature a shuttle system, picking stations spread across three levels, and a highly automated packing area. These areas are connected by an internal conveyor system with a total length of several kilometers. Körber is also integrating VarioSort electric cross-belt sorters and modern lifting beam units from its own portfolio. Additional units in the existing fleet are scheduled for retrofitting. The project has been preceded by several years of intensive planning.
