For the third consecutive year, Linde Material Handling has been awarded EcoVadis Platinum, the highest distinction in the international sustainability assessment. This distinction places the company among the top 1 percent of all companies evaluated globally.
EcoVadis evaluates companies’ sustainability efforts in four areas: environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. Linde Material Handling improved its scores in all categories and received 92 out of 100 points, an increase of nine points compared to the previous year. The company’s performance was particularly strong in the environmental category, where it achieved 98 out of 100 points.
– Over the past year, we have taken further significant steps in our sustainability efforts. The fact that we have once again achieved a Platinum rating while also improving our results demonstrates that our sustainability efforts are long-term and strategically grounded,” says Jessica Borg, Senior Manager QHSE Central Europe & Nordic Markets at Linde Material Handling.
During the year, Linde Material Handling has taken several concrete steps to further develop its sustainability efforts. For the first time, the company has reported carbon dioxide emissions from the use phase of sold products at the brand level, as well as carbon dioxide emissions in the supply chain. At the same time, efforts in the areas of ethics, data protection, and anti-corruption have been further strengthened, and new initiatives have been developed to promote diversity and inclusion.
“An important aspect is that the Platinum rating covers all of our production facilities and sales and service organizations in EMEA. This provides a very broad and comprehensive picture of our sustainability efforts,” says Jessica Borg.
EcoVadis is one of the world’s leading platforms for corporate sustainability assessment and analyzes tens of thousands of organizations globally each year. Only 1 percent of the more than 150,000 companies assessed annually by EcoVadis are awarded a platinum rating.
