Nestlé, the world’s largest food company, has appointed Nowaste Logistics as its new logistics partner for its entire Scandinavian operations. The food giant’s logistics will be managed from a new, climate-smart, and automated warehouse in Helsingborg.
Nestlé has a large number of brands in categories such as baby food, coffee, pet food, breakfast cereals, and candy. Among them are Kit Kat, Zoegas, Nescafé, Purina, and Friskies. The first orders for Nestlé Denmark were recently picked at Nowaste Logistics’ brand-new terminal at Logistikposition Ramlösa outside Helsingborg. That agreement was signed last fall. Now, the partnership with Nestlé is being expanded to cover the company’s entire Scandinavian logistics operations.
“We feel joy, pride, and humility in the face of this assignment and the trust placed in us by the world’s largest food company,” says Håkan Lindberg, Head of Sales and Business Development at Nowaste Logistics.
– Three warehouses in three different locations will be consolidated into a single warehouse as logistics are now being centralized in Nowaste and Helsingborg. The flow of goods, combined with the economies of scale in the new, modern warehouse, creates the conditions for an efficient supply of goods to the Scandinavian market. “The location was one of the reasons we chose Nowaste, but even more important were the company’s forward-thinking solutions when it comes to technology, automation, and sustainability,” says Mikael Lindgren of Nestlé.
In collaboration with the City of Helsingborg, Nowaste is working with Catena to develop a logistics center covering nearly 80,000 m2. The facility, which is being built to very high sustainability standards, is expected to employ approximately 300 people upon completion. .
