Optimistic purchasing managers point to a strong economic recovery

Inköpschefsindex – PMI – är sedan decennier en pålitlig konjunkturmätare. Under juli månad steg PMI till 51,0, vilket innebär att ekonomin i produktionsindustrin är tillbaka i den så kallade tillväxtzonen. Sammantaget växte PMI-produktion och PMI-tjänster med 3,4 indexenheter i juli till 51,0 från 47,6 i juni.

– Tillverkningsindustrin är därmed tillbaka i tillväxtzonen för första gången sedan februari i år och konjunkturen i svensk tillverkningsindustri fortsätter att återhämta sig i snabb takt efter den djupa nedgången i våras, säger Jörgen Kennemar, ansvarig för analysen av inköpschefsindex på Swedbank.

Inköpschefsindex för privata tjänstesektorn (PMI–tjänster) ökade i juli till 54,8 från uppreviderade 50,9 i juni. Det är tredje månaden i rad som indexet stiger och är nu på den högsta nivån sedan februari.
