Swisslog Launches FastMove – the Next-Generation Monorail Solution for Pallets

Swisslog, a leading provider of data-driven warehouse automation solutions, has rebranded its proven monorail system under the new name FastMove. The updated product identity reflects enhanced customer value with a focus on performance, flexibility, and improved equipment lifespan for long-distance pallet transport.

FastMove is a high-capacity electrified monorail system designed to efficiently transport palletized goods through complex warehouse environments. Built on more than 40 years of proven Swisslog technology, this next-generation solution enables companies to optimize material flows over long distances while ensuring high throughput and gentle handling of goods. FastMove enables customers to significantly increase throughput, with transport speeds of up to 2 m/s and system capacity exceeding 600 pallets per hour. This high performance helps businesses meet growing demand and better manage peak loads.

– FastMove represents the next step in the development of Swisslog’s monorail technology. “By combining high performance with modular scalability and cost-effectiveness, we offer our customers a future-proof solution that supports growth, modernization, and long-term operational excellence,” says Giovanni Franco, Product Manager, Pallet Transportation at Swisslog.

Compared to traditional conveyor-based transport solutions, FastMove offers a more cost-effective solution, particularly in applications involving long transport distances or high capacity requirements. The ability to transport large volumes over long distances with fewer system components contributes to lower installation and operating costs, while also allowing for more efficient use of warehouse space.

Scalable and flexible

The system was developed with flexibility and scalability as core values, enabling customers to adapt their intralogistics as their business needs change. The modular track design supports complex layouts and can be adjusted with minimal effort. Capacity can be easily scaled up or down by changing the number of vehicles in the system, enabling phased investments in line with business growth and fluctuating demand.

Extended service life through the modernization package

FastMove also offers clear advantages for existing facilities. The system’s components are well-suited for modernization and retrofit projects, enabling customers to upgrade performance and extend the service life of their intralogistics systems without having to replace the entire system. Current upgrades are primarily carried out at the control and software levels, while mechatronic adjustments are made as needed. This protects previous investments while keeping the facilities up to date and compliant with current regulations. The next product version, to be launched before the end of 2026, has been developed to meet the requirements of the EU’s Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) and relevant machinery regulations.

Designed for demanding environments and various industries

FastMove is designed to deliver reliable performance across a wide range of operating conditions. The system operates in environments ranging from cold storage facilities with temperatures as low as -30°C to ambient temperatures of up to 50°C and handles loads of up to 1,500 kg, or up to 3,000 kg in dual-load configurations. This makes FastMove a versatile solution for the food and beverage industry, the consumer goods sector, and the retail industry, where high performance and robustness are essential requirements.

Seamless integration with intelligent software

FastMove integrates with existing warehouse IT infrastructure via Swisslog’s SynQ software platform, enabling intelligent control of material flows and synchronization between automated and manual processes. Transparent and data-driven operations are supported throughout the entire process, meeting the growing demand for connected intralogistics solutions.
