Kid and Hemtex Choose IMI's WMS and TA Systems

Kid ASA has implemented a new WMS and TA system from the Nordic company IMI Supply Chain Solutions. Kid ASA is a leading Nordic retail chain specializing in home furnishings and home textiles, and is the owner of Hemtex in Sweden. In total, Kid ASA operates around 280 stores in Norway, Sweden, Estonia, and Finland.

– We are pleased about this important partnership with IMI to take our warehouse management and transportation administration to the next level; IMI’s solutions align perfectly with our commitment to providing high-quality service, local presence, and seamless deliveries to our customers. We believe these logistics solutions will further strengthen our competitiveness in the market,” says Eivind Disen, Logistics and Warehouse Manager at Kid ASA.

Both new systems are fully operational, and their implementation took place in conjunction with Kid and Hemtex centralizing their warehouse operations in Viared, outside Borås. This means that the warehousing operations for the sister company Kid Interiör—which is Norway’s equivalent of Hemtex, with 158 stores—are also moving into the same warehouse. Consolidating warehouse operations reflects the company’s focus on delivering high-quality customer service while also creating the conditions for a more efficient logistics process within the Kid Group. By utilizing IMI’s solutions, Kid and Hemtex aim to further solidify their position as the Nordic region’s leading retail chain for home textiles and interior design.

– A product or service is only as strong as the culture and the people behind it, Kid ASA. That’s why we decided against traditional RFP processes and instead focused on genuine dialogues, where we got to meet the people behind the systems. That’s exactly why we chose IMI—the culture, attitude, and people, combined with IMI’s highly configurable solutions, give us the freedom to steer our own development. We look forward to a fruitful partnership with IMI,” says Frode Finnes Larsen, CTO at Kid ASA.

IMI’s warehouse management system offers functionality to streamline warehouse processes, including automated order processing, customs handling, and intelligent route optimization within the warehouse. Integrating IMI’s WMS into their operations enables significant improvements in warehouse productivity for Kid and Hemtex. In addition to the warehouse management system, Kid and Hemtex have also implemented IMI’s TA system. With a comprehensive range of connected carriers and features such as digital customs management, this enables reliable and efficient transportation administration, resulting in even more satisfied end customers.

– We look forward to helping Kid and Hemtex in their pursuit of world-class logistics. Our goal is to help our customers create more sustainable logistics flows with innovative solutions that drive efficiency and improve customer satisfaction. “We are pleased to be working closely with Kid and Hemtex to drive continued growth and success together,” says Niklas Rönnbäck, CEO of IMI.
