Logility—a software company specializing in supply chain planning—is acquiring the Belgian logistics startup Garvis, which combines large language models (such as ChatGPT) with AI-powered demand forecasting in its AI forecasting solution ”DemandAI+.” The solution combines generative AI with machine learning algorithms, which is said to enable more modern and intuitive planning, digitize collaboration within the supply chain, and make data accessible to all stakeholders.
DemandAI+, a cloud-based service, will be integrated into the Logility Digital Supply Chain Platform over the coming year. According to a press release, this will mean that Logility will offer the only supply chain planning platform that utilizes generative AI, advanced AI-driven algorithms, and machine learning.
– Supply chain planning will evolve tremendously in the years ahead. Technological advances, generational shifts among planners, and the rapid pace of market development will play a major role. With an AI-driven strategy at its core, Garvis has revolutionized how companies forecast demand in an increasingly dynamic market. “By adding Garvis to our portfolio, we’re accelerating our work toward achieving our shared vision of challenging the traditional boundaries of supply chain planning,” says Allan Dow, CEO and President of Logility.
With over 70 implementations, customers have been able to transform purchasing behaviors, market dynamics, and other events into forecasts for various products, locations, and consumers. DemandAI+ enables companies to understand how to respond to changes as they occur—which ultimately improves the accuracy of forecasts and service levels, even for heavily marketed, highly seasonal, or temporary products.
