Nowaste Logistics, an innovative and fast-growing 3PL company and a subsidiary of Everfresh, has chosen Swisslog as its partner for its new automated logistics center in Helsingborg.
In partnership with the City of Helsingborg, Nowaste is working with Catena to develop a logistics center covering nearly 80,000 m2. The facility, which is being built with very high sustainability goals, is expected to employ approximately 300 people upon completion.
“We have been entrusted with the task of delivering an automated pallet warehouse for storing and handling pallets at Nowaste Logistics’ new logistics center,” says Jens Erik Jøranli, Sales Manager for Integrated Solutions at Swisslog.
The facility is based on some of Swisslog’s most competitive and well-proven technical solutions, including ten Vectura high-bay cranes, a racking system with 56,000 pallet spaces, conveyor systems, and Swisslog’s SynQ WMS, which will be integrated with Nowaste Logistics’ proprietary control system.
Nowaste Logistics has high standards for sustainability, and the ten Vectura cranes supplied by Swisslog are designed for exceptionally high energy efficiency.
“A large portion of our deliveries is handled locally in Sweden and carried out by local staff, which strengthens our relationship and our strong, innovative partnership with Nowaste Logistics’ skilled staff,” says Jens Erik Jøranli.
– Because we analyze and assess our customers’ needs ourselves, I believe we’re a great partner to work with when it comes to automation projects. Together with Swisslog, we’ve developed a methodology for our last two projects—Stigamo, just south of Jönköping, and Ramlösa in Helsingborg—that works very well for us,” says Patrik Johnfors, Solution Design & Implementation Manager at Nowaste Logistics.
As early as the beginning of the 2000s, Nowaste Logistics and Swisslog began a partnership that has since resulted in a number of automated systems, including two AutoStore solutions, two automated pallet warehouses—with a third currently in the works—and a range of other solutions such as robotic pallet picking.
Construction of the new pallet warehouse in Helsingborg will begin in January of next year and is scheduled to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2025.
