Issue No. #2 2021 NOW AVAILABLE: ”Warehouse and Materials Management of the Future”

A highlighted #2/2021 from Supply Chain Effect has arrived. The theme this time is The Future of Warehousing and Materials Handling, including an interview with the CEO of Nelly Group, Kristina Lukes which is making a major investment in logistics and supply chain management. We’ll also meet with Ahlsell’s Chief Digital Officer, Lars Gezelius who, together with his more than 60 employees, is driving a digital transformation and e-commerce development that is worthy of applause and inspiration. We also interview Maria Stjärne, Head of Sales, Nordic at Swisslog, on the growing prevalence of micro-fulfillment, and we meet Sweden’s ”Dr. Warehousing” Joakim Kembro, Lund University, and Daniel Dombach, Zebra Technologies' warehouse expert. We also take a closer look at the reasons behind the high level of interest in real-time supply chain visibility in an interview with Shippeo's Jonatan Rajala. In addition to all this, we offer insightful and incisive columns by Henric Hasth, CEO of Toyota Material Handling Sweden, Hans Berggren, CEO of PipeChain Group and Jim Bralsford, Senior Industries Strategy Director, 3PL, at Blue Yonder, as well as thought-provoking articles on how to build a sustainable e-commerce business (by the researchers Daniel Hellström, John Olsson, Josephine Darlington, Lovisa Westblom and Klas Hjort). In a summary of an extended roundtable discussion, we present the main conclusions regarding ”How we can better share and use supply chain data”—participants in the discussion included, among others, Nina Wenell, Johan Jemdahl and Henric Hasth.
