At the Creaternity Awards on March 18, one of three awards went to Polarbröd, which was recognized for its sustainability and resilience in the supply chain, contributing to Sweden’s self-sufficiency.
“The main lesson is how much we can achieve together if we just try. In a crisis, a great deal of creativity and the courage to try things we didn’t think were possible are unleashed,” says Karin Bodin, CEO of Polarbröd, and continues:
– We are very proud to have taken the lead in rail freight, for both inbound and outbound shipments, even though it hasn’t always been easy. We are now looking into an electric shuttle service between the bakery and the intermodal terminal. Our goal is fully renewable transportation. When people recognize our work, it gives us the energy to keep going.
