Sendify Brings in External Investors – Raises 18 Million

Swedish logistics technology company Sendify is raising 1.7 million euros—approximately 18 million SEK—from Berlin-based venture capital firm Atlantic Labs, which has previously invested in companies such as SoundCloud, GetYourGuide, Omio, and Jodel. This marks the first time Sendify has raised external capital.

“Since our founding in 2015, I’ve been able to self-fund Sendify using capital from my previous venture, which has allowed Sendify to grow with a long-term strategy from day one. “We’ve now reached a point where we’re in a good position to scale up, and I see value in securing additional growth capital,” says Fredrik Edeland, CEO of Sendify.

The investment comes as Sendify has recruited Saltside founder Nils Hammar and legal entrepreneur Johan Norin to its board of directors; they will be key pieces of the puzzle in leading the company into new markets. Expansive growth, product development, and internationalization are next on the agenda. The capital will lay the foundation for an expansion of Sendify’s shipping booking service, which has so far helped over 3,000 small business owners in Sweden ship to and from destinations around the world.

Sendify was founded by entrepreneur Fredrik Edeland in late 2015 and is an end-to-end service for small business owners to calculate shipping costs, book shipments, and track packages. In 2019, Sendify more than doubled its revenue, from 11 million SEK to over 26.3 million SEK. Currently, 3,000 small business owners use Sendify for their shipping needs. In 2019, Fredrik Edeland took second place in the Swedish Entrepreneurs Association’s ”Young Entrepreneur of the Year” competition.
