Svenska Retursystem is expanding—launching its own Customer Planning & Support Center

To meet increased demand, Svenska Retursystem is expanding its logistics operations in Västerås. This spring, the facility will be expanded to accommodate more office space and additional warehouse space. The company will also establish a Customer Planning & Support Center and hire about twenty employees over the next six months.

“We have a very exciting year ahead of us. It’s incredibly exciting that we’re making such a major investment here in Västerås. Our new Customer Planning and Support Center will be the heart of our logistics operations, both in Sweden and internationally,” says Fredrik Thapper, Supply Chain Manager at Svenska Retursystem.

Today, the company Sonat in Örebro is responsible for customer service, balance monitoring, and day-to-day planning. They have been a key part of the return system’s success since its inception about 20 years ago. Svenska Retursystem’s decision to bring these operations in-house stems from a desire to create better conditions for building long-term, broad-based logistics expertise within the company. As Svenska Retursystem expands its office space, the facility is also being expanded. In recent years, the business has expanded significantly, and to meet the increased demand, capacity must be increased.

“We’re pleased to have begun the expansion of our facility so that we can secure our capacity and meet the growing demand for our smart and sustainable load carriers,” says Patrik Halt, Regional Manager for the Central Region at Svenska Retursystem.

The expansion, covering approximately 7,200 square meters, is being carried out in collaboration with Mileway and Logistic Contractor. A large portion of the new space will be used for warehousing. With expanded warehouse space, the need to transport goods between Svenska Retursystem’s various facilities in Sweden is reduced, thereby lowering carbon dioxide emissions.
