TGW Scandinavia Celebrates Its 15th Anniversary and Continues to Build on Successful Projects

Since its founding in 2010, TGW Scandinavia—a subsidiary of TGW Logistics—has made a significant impact on the dynamic material handling market. Many of the solutions the team develops in collaboration with customers in Sweden, Denmark, and Norway are well-known in the industry, including a couple of projects in frozen food logistics for the grocery retail sector.

TGW Scandinavia, which is part of TGW Northern Europe, is responsible for everything from business development and sales to project management and lifetime services in Sweden, Norway, and Denmark. TGW is currently building a highly automated distribution center for retail giant ICA Sweden, which is scheduled for completion in January 2026. The facility consists of a 30-meter-high frozen goods warehouse for pallets that is connected to a dynamic shuttle system, enabling direct access to each item to minimize lead times. Items are retrieved, sequenced, and handled at palletizing stations where fully or partially automated stacking of orders takes place in roll cages for the respective receiving stores. An additional frozen-food logistics facility is being built in Trondheim for ASKO, Norway’s leading grocery retailer. The 18-meter-high frozen-food facility consists of a high-bay warehouse for pallets and an automated mini-load warehouse with 38,000 storage locations.

Distribution Center for Medical Products

A highly automated distribution center will be built in Gothenburg for the Swedish healthcare specialist OneMed. At its core will be the so-called FlashPick system, featuring a 24-meter-high shuttle warehouse with over 80,000 storage locations, into which the self-learning picking robot RovoFlex will be integrated.

– We remain strongly committed to expanding our Scandinavian operations as part of our strategic growth plan. These initiatives reinforce our commitment to supporting our customers in the region, while developing our future prospects to enhance their operational excellence. By strengthening our local presence, we aim to deliver even greater responsiveness, reliability, and long-term value throughout Scandinavia,” says Bart Van Eycken, Sales Manager for Northern Europe at TGW Logistics.
