Descartes Systems Group, a global provider of logistics solutions with several offices in the Nordic region, has acquired U.S.-based 3GTMS, a leading provider of transportation management solutions, for 115 million USD.
3GTMS (3G’s) transportation management solutions combine modern cloud architecture, an extensive network of carriers, and planning-driven automation to help customers reduce costs, increase customer satisfaction, and improve efficiency. Third-party logistics providers and freight brokers use 3G’s platform to optimize domestic road freight transportation with tools for planning, classification, consolidation, and route planning that cover the entire transportation lifecycle.
– “3G’s freight transportation solutions in North America complement each other well and offer domestic transportation management for truckload, less-than-truckload (LTL), and package shipping,” says Andrew Roszko, Chief Commercial Officer at Descartes, adding: – The acquisition also expands the reach of our carriers in North America, including a network of API-integrated LTL carriers. The combination of Descartes’ transportation management solutions and our global logistics network gives us a fantastic opportunity to deliver even more value to our combined customer base.”.
– Just like Descartes, 3G has successfully built solutions that connect freight forwarders, carriers, and logistics providers to efficiently digitize and manage the transportation lifecycle. “We look forward to working with 3G’s team of experts to integrate our products, and we are excited to collaborate with 3G’s partners and customers,” said Edward J. Ryan, CEO of Descartes.
