David von Heijne assumed the role of Chief Supply Chain Officer and member of H&M’s Executive Management Team at the end of January. David will lead a unified supply chain function with end-to-end responsibility for the supply flow. This is a new role and function that brings together key competencies across the entire supply chain to support continued growth and create greater agility and flexibility, with the customer at the center.
In this role, he will have overall responsibility for the flow of goods, end-to-end, which underscores H&M’s increasingly flow-oriented approach—a general trend among many globally active companies where demands for delivery precision, speed, efficiency, sustainability, and flexibility are constantly rising. David joined the H&M Group in 2011 and has since held several leadership roles in controlling and product-related functions; most recently, he served as Managing Director of Product Operations, a responsibility he will continue to hold alongside his new role. He studied at Stockholm University and Harvard University and holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and finance.
As David von Heijne takes office, Ellen Svanström is stepping down from her role as CDIO (Chief Digital Information Officer) after more than ten years with the H&M Group. Ellen will remain in her current role during the transition period to ensure a smooth handover and the seamless onboarding of her successor. During her time as CDIO, Ellen has played a key role in establishing a strong foundation and driving progress within the technology organization.
