H&M appoints supply chain expert Helena Helmersson as its new CEO

Med Helena Helmersson som ny vd och koncernchef för klädjätten H&M är det en person med mycket djup och bred supply chain-kompetens som tar över efter Karl-Johan Persson. Närmast kommer Helmersson från posten som COO i H&M med ansvar för bland annat expansion, logistik, produktion, IT och AI. Under sina mer än tjugo år i företaget har Helena Helmersson innehaft en rad poster med fokus på supply chain. Hon började karriären 1997 som ekonom på inköpsavdelningen. Efter ett antal olika jobb inom inköp utsågs hon 2007 till Regional Supply Chain Manager i Asien. 2010 utsågs hon till Head of Sustainability och blev samtidigt medlem av ledningsgruppen för koncernen. Helena Helmersson drev hållbarhetsfrågorna mycket målmedvetet och framgångsrikt och utsågs 2015 till Global Head of Production med placering i Hongkong. För ett och ett halvt år sedan tillträdde hon befattningen som COO för H&M Group, men går nu alltså vidare till vd-jobbet i ett av Sveriges största företag.
