RFID Solution for Improved Delivery Tracking

Modexpress, a specialist in global fashion shipments, has implemented an RFID-based warehouse solution, Zetes Medea, to manage orders from its customer Suitsupply, according to a press release from Zetes. By optimizing warehouse processes, many more orders can be verified using significantly less hardware.

With the new solution, the EPC (Electronic Purchasing Code) codes for all clothing and accessories are verified by scanning an RFID tag, which is said to have an accuracy rate of 99.7 percent. Modexpress provides logistics services to fashion companies and has seven warehouses in the Netherlands, covering an area of 165,000 m2, with 800 employees. Suitsupply, which has been a major customer of Modexpress for the past fifteen years, asked the company to implement a solution using RFID technology to verify the EPC codes of all products upon delivery of orders. To this end, an automated solution consisting of ZetesMedea software and Zebra RFID hardware has been implemented. Through the software, all scanned codes are automatically transferred to Modexpress’s ERP system. All data is then shared in real time with Suitsupply’s order management system.

– Modexpress contacted us because they wanted to replace an RFID solution they were using to process B2B orders from Suitsupply. “By contributing ideas for potential optimizations—since the peak seasons for processing B2B and B2C orders differ—we’ve managed to significantly increase the efficiency of all order verification,” says Paul Lankhout, Country Manager at Zetes.
