Svensk Handel is merging its subsidiary Svensk Digital Handel

In a press release, Svensk Handel and its subsidiary Svensk Digital Handel note that the line between digital and brick-and-mortar retail has blurred, leading to the decision to merge the two organizations. The change is intended to enable a concerted effort to address the future of retail with a unified voice for the entire industry.

In an era where digital and brick-and-mortar retail exist in symbiosis, this merger is a natural step. This change gives us the strength to tackle the future challenges facing the retail industry. “When we speak with one voice, we become more powerful and can make a greater impact for the benefit of the entire industry,” says Sofia Larsen, CEO of Svensk Handel.

Svensk Handel will continue to invest heavily in further developing networking events, such as D-Congress, where retail industry stakeholders can find inspiration on issues that help future-proof the retail sector in Sweden. Svensk Digital Handel’s long-standing focus on logistics—which has resulted in an industry agreement on fossil-free deliveries to be launched shortly—will also be further strengthened.

Per Ljungberg, CEO of Svensk Digital Handel, has been appointed Chief Innovation Officer at Svensk Handel and will continue to oversee D-Congress.

“The merger creates the right conditions for developing the entire D-Congress community. We will continue to invest in new meeting places where retail industry players can find inspiration, develop business opportunities, and forge partnerships that help future-proof the retail sector in Sweden,” says Per Ljungberg.
