Inretrn Raises 100 Million in Growth Capital

Inretrn, a Borås-based company that has been developing a post-purchase platform for e-retailers since 2017, is raising nearly 100 million kronor from the Norwegian software investor Viking Growth to ensure continued product development and international expansion.

Inretrn was founded in Borås in 2017 and offers automated management of return flows for e-retailers such as Stadium, Gina Tricot, Nordic Nest, and Svenskt Tenn. The investment, which is a combination of a new share issuance and the acquisition of existing shares, will finance Inretrn’s product development and expansion in the Nordic region and the rest of Europe.

“Returns management has become one of the most costly challenges in e-commerce. Inretrn stands out for its product depth, domain expertise, and a customer base that proves it is addressing a real market need,” says Martin Sjøhaug Eriksen, investment director at Viking Growth.

The Swedish e-commerce market generates over 153 billion kronor in annual revenue, with inefficient post-purchase processing estimated to cost over 7 billion kronor per year in the form of unnecessary manual labor, delayed refunds, and products that do not reach their most profitable destination. Returns, exchanges, complaints, and repairs are the biggest problems here. With Inretrn’s portal, the complexity of these workflows is managed by directing each product to the destination where it creates the most value. This could be the market with the highest demand, a specific store that needs restocking, or a facility for repair or complaint handling.

“With Viking Growth’s experience in scaling up Nordic software companies internationally, we’ll have the support we need to help more brands and retailers take full control of the post-purchase journey,” says Fredrik Hedblom, CEO of Inretrn.
